Dear, Friends

Thank you so much for reading our newsletter and praying for the first women that God has for us to minister to. We are receiving applications and close to having our first women.

ALL CURRICULUM PURCHASED!!!

After receiving the grant from United Way, we finished purchasing all the curriculum! Here it is, ready to go! We also received books, workbooks, and DVD’s from Lisa Bevere, Larry Golden, Bev DeSalvo, and Azalee Tatum. These gifts will help to change a woman’s life and break generational bondages, one family at a time.

The curriculum used in our program will help each woman consider her spiritual, physical and mental health. It will also, provide the opportunity for the individuals to learn and develop healthy relationships and natural supports. The classes also provide instruction on personality assessment and development; career not just work opportunities and training. The curriculum will also encourage program participants in the art of healthy fun in recreation and relaxation.

Quilts for the Women

What a great surprise to receive 5 handmade quilts from some awesome quilters, Jean Garvin and her daughter Jewel Jones. They will continue to make quilts for SH that the women can take with them when they leave to go home.

Jean will also teach interested SH program participants the age old and meaningful art of quilting.

Brand New Clothes

Thanks to a beautiful boutique in town on the square for donating $2,000 of brand new clothes to our women. If you have not shopped at Adonia Grace, please stop and meet this wonderful woman, Jennifer Hicks.

Mission of the Month

First United Methodist church in Weatherford chose us as their mission of the month for September. Janet shared about Sanctified Hope in all the services and people learned about SH at our booth.

Another opportunity to share SH was at the Weatherford Regional Hospital’s 9th Annual Healthy Women’s Expo at Southwest Ford.

Sanctified Hope’s commitment to serve program participants holistically means we must be connected in our community to provide physical and mental health resources. Regardless of the issues that bring people to need help; healing and wholeness is possible.

From the Executive Director

Welcome to Fall! This is my favorite time of the year; harvest moons, bright nights, cool mornings and evenings. Approximately one year ago, I began to fly to Texas for Sanctified Hope (SH) Board of Director’s monthly meetings. Almost 6 months later, I moved to Weatherford, to become the Executive Director of SH. Initially I came because I wanted to help my dear friend of almost 40 years, Janet Duvall, in the program and operations development. Now I am here because I love, love, love, SH’s purpose and the individuals we serve.

When returning citizens come to SH, they will find a place where compassion and accountability meet. Re-entry into society after being incarcerated can be very challenging for the individuals and their families. SH is committed to remove the stress and to implant hope so that relapse, homelessness, and recidivism is not an option!

Thank you to so many that support SH ministry through prayer and giving in various ways!!! Your commitment to help change the world ONE LIFE AT A TIME is greatly appreciated! Together we are better.

Singing His Praises,
Sue Moreland

Joyfully,
The Board of Sanctified Hope
