Sanctified Hope Home for Women - Board Members

Janet Duvall - Chairperson

Janet is the wife of Milner Duvall, a mother of 4, and grandmother of 7 so far! She has been involved in many ministries over the years from mission work, clothing ministries, counseling, teaching Bible study, and keyboard vocalist in a women’s praise band. The ministry that has her heart now is prison and jail ministry which she has been involved with for over 8 years. For 5 years, Janet and a friend have been teaching a class called “Making Peace with your Past” at Carswell Federal prison. Janet also goes into Parker County jail on a substitute basis. As a result of the prison and jail ministry, the God idea for a women’s transitional home was birthed.

John Gordon - Secretary/Treasurer

John has been married 45 years, has two daughters and three grandsons. He is a graduate of Weatherford Jr. College and The University of Texas at Arlington. He has a BA degree in accounting. He worked a short time for the Corps of Engineers, GSA and completed his civil service career after working for the IRS for 28 years. John spent five years in the Army (May 1966- June 1971) spending a year in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot and entered civilian life again after attaining the rank of captain.

John accepted Christ at age 13, but strayed for a while coming back to the Lord in 1980. He has served as a deacon, worship leader, prayer leader, small group leader, Sunday school teacher for adults, and chairman of the finance committee in his local church.

John retired in January 2006 and in February became involved in the jail and prison ministry, thanks to the guidance and encouragement provide by his pastor Jon Sherman. In December 2013, John was offered and accepted the part-time position of chaplain for Parker County Jail in Weatherford, Texas. He is presently serving in that position.

During this ministry period John heard about a vision given Janet Duvall and offered to come alongside and share in seeing the vision come to fruition.

Shaun Herring - Board Member

Shaun is married to Leslie and they have 5 children. He studied business management at North Texas State University. He has been involved in business management and construction in this area for many years, currently self-employed.

He serves faithfully at his church as a deacon and as a resource and support to individuals being released from incarceration. Shaun states, “‘my lived experience’ is now being used by the Lord.”

After seeing the homes and property of Sanctified Hope, and learning of their mission, Shaun felt a deep desire to join the board. He feels his testimony will encourage the program participants.

Gayle Wells - Board Member

Gayle has been married for 43 years to Steve Wells, she is a mother of 2 and a Grammie of 7. She has been involve in prison ministry for over 16 years. Events were planned in multiple states with the goal to reach the unchurched with the Gospel. She also worked as a program support specialist toward the end of her tenure.

From her experiences and connections with Prison Fellowship she became involved with One Day With God Camps, a ministry that plans children having a day long visit with their incarcerated parents. Later she became employed with Bill Glass Behind the Wall ministry as the Prison Department Manager. Behind the Walls holds multi in prison events across the country. In September of 2014 she was appointed Executive Director for the Coalition of Prison Evangelist (COPE). The mission of COPE is to bring ministries together to share fellowship and resources.

After hearing the ministry vision for Sanctified Hope she knew this was where God was calling her next.

Randi Daniel - Board Member

Randi has been married for 2 years to Corey and they have 2 fur-babies but no children yet. She is a full time student at Tarleton State University and works as a recruiter in the restaurant industry. Her prison ministry started from the inside when she was incarcerated in 2008 for a drug conviction. Over the 4.5 years of incarceration she developed a heart for hurting women as well as a love for those with addictions. She has been involved with Hidden Treasures Prison Ministry for 3 years where she ministers at the Gatesville Murray Unit. She also works with the youth and college students at her church.

When Randi heard about Sanctified Hope she knew the Lord was calling her to be involved and to walk alongside these women in the next stage of their lives.

Linda Tidmore – Board Member

Linda and her husband Wade have been married for 37 years and have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. She holds an Elementary Education degree from the University of Houston and retired in 2004, after a 30 year teaching career. After retirement, she found a new passion volunteering with organizations such as Kairos Prison Ministries, Red Cross, Meals on Wheels and most recently has joined World Relief of Fort Worth.

As a member of Trinity Bible Church, Linda first heard of Janet Duvall and her vision for starting a transition home in Parker County, for formerly incarcerated women. From her previous service with Kairos Prison Ministries, she knew that she wanted to be involved in some capacity. After serving with Kairos for over 12 years, Linda had heard the stories from men and women about their fears of being released from prison. The recurring theme heard was, “I don’t want to fall back into the old lifestyle” and Sanctified Hope provides an avenue for that hope!

John 15:12 “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”
